Hiya everyone. Thought I'd kick things off with my latest make - a fully tailored jacket using a lovely (I think) cotton blend fabric I got from Liz Davenport in Perth while they were having their massive fabric sale because they were moving. They make some very high end clothing, so I knew their fabric would be good. I picked my fav Tailoring book off the shelf (http://www.amazon.com/Tailoring-Classic-Sewing-Perfect-Jacket/dp/1589232305) and followed right along using the 'custom' method. This meant tailoring canvas, pad stitching and lots of time. But you know what, I enjoyed every minute. The lining I picked up from a thrift shop oddly enough. It's beautifully thick - a twill, but I'm not sure of the composition - no burning done yet. Pattern is BurdaStyle and can be found here www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/belted-jacket-102010. The only alteration I did was to reduce the width of the collar by 5cm or so. I don't want to upload too many piccies here, so here are some final pics...you can see the rest of the construction deets on the blog. Anywho, hope you enjoyed the eye candy! xxxx Kat
